PROJECT DETAILS
Penn Trails was selected by the Land Conservancy of Adams County to visualize a pedestrian trail linking multiple preserved agricultural properties for economic development purposes and to enhance the experience for visitors to the farms, which all maintain public-facing businesses including a cidery, an orchard, and a nursery. Conceptual trail work included defining a 14,000 foot trail corridor traversing orchards, farm fields, and forests. Utilizing Penn Trails’ state-of-the-art GIS data dictionary, station logs were generated outlining every design element along the trail, allowing for accurate cost estimation and seamless integration of design data into future phases.
With approval from all landowners, the design process proceeded to the detail design phase, including a wetland delineation for a sensitive stream crossing, and a full plan set and erosion and sedimentation control design.
