PROJECT DETAILS

Penn Trails partnered with Barton & Loguidice to complete conceptual trail design as part of a Master Development Plan for Furnace Run Park. A 3.5 mile trail system was devised traversing agricultural, wooded, and riparian zones, to create a pleasant pedestrian recreational experience to tie together program areas.

Utilizing Penn Trails’ state-of-the-art GIS data dictionary, station logs were generated outlining every design element along the trail, allowing for accurate cost estimation and seamless integration of design data into future phases.

Conceptual plan and budget documents developed by Penn Trails were used as part of an application for a Community Conservation Partnerships Program grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Resources for implementation funding, which was awarded in December 2021.
