PROJECT DETAILS

Penn Trails worked with the Peace Valley Nature Center to begin a property-wide trail assessment with a short section. The project consisted of assessment of one mile of highly-trafficked rugged trail with recommendations to improve it and make a portion Universally Accessible.

The assessed portion of trail showed severe wear and tear exacerbated by the flat topography and routinely wet conditions. By breaking work into categories based on complexity, the trail assessment outlined ways to prioritize, phase, and structure the work in order to best balance staffing resources and funding. Station logs were generated outlining every area for maintenance and repair along the trail, allowing for accurate cost estimation.
