PROJECT DETAILS

Tucquan Glen is a 413-acre preserve and one of a string of conserved properties that border the Susquehanna River and are accessible via the Conestoga Trail. It is one of the most popular preserved in the area due to its beautiful scenery and small waterfall features at the Susquehanna end of the property. The existing trails had suffered under years of heavy use due to the site’s popularity, and Penn Trails was selected in 2020 to complete a conceptual design and subsequent detailed design plan set to increase long-term trail sustainability and user access.

Initial conceptual design work took place in early 2020, assessing three miles of existing trail with recommendations for rehabilitation and realignment.

The proposed trail design alters the existing trails in order to stabilize and realign the existing trails to prioritize safety and reduction of environmental impacts. Detail design was completed in early 2021 featuring a complete plan set and design details for construction and permitting purposes.
